Deputy Chief of Police, Special Police Department
This Department shall comprise of the following Branch and Special Police Divisions:
1. Police Training Institute (PTI)
2. Special Police Branch (SPB)
(i) Traffic Division;
(ii) Prison Services Division;
(iii) Fire and Rescue Services Division;
(iv) Security Division; and
(v) Special Reserve Police Force & National Search and Rescue Training Center
SPECIAL POLICE DEPARTMENT
Branch and Special Police Divisions:
Police Training Institute
The Police Training Institute (PTI) at Jigmeling, Gelephu, stands as a crucial establishment under the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP), committed to the training and professional development of police personnel.
Traffic Division
The Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) Traffic Division enforces road safety regulations, manages traffic flow, and reduces road accidents throughout the country.
Prison Service Division
The Prison Service Division of the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) manages, secures, and rehabilitates inmates throughout the country.
Fire and Rescue Service Division
The FRSD will have fire stations and units in Dzongkhags and Thromdes.
Security Division
This Division shall provide security for VVIPs/VIPs, foreign dignitaries, and critical installations and shall consist of the following units:
Special Reserve Police Force (SRPF) and National Search and Rescue Training Center
The SRPF and National Search and Rescue Training Centre shall specialize in the fields specified in the RBP
