This Division shall provide security for VVIPs/VIPs, foreign dignitaries, and vital installations, and shall consist of the following units:
VIP Protection Unit
- Ensure mobile and static security for VIPs and foreign dignitaries according to the standard security protocol issued by the Royal Government of Bhutan;
- Conduct threat assessment in collaboration with the Investigation Bureau and the Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs; and
- Coordinate beforehand with the relevant agencies for VIP security.
Vital Installations Security Unit
- Ensure security for the designated vital installations as instructed by the RBPHQ.
- Ensure that all fire alarms and equipment are functional in collaboration with the FRSD and that there are no risks of fire hazards; and
- Ensure proper inventories of all security gadgets and equipment issued and installed in the respective vital installations.
Anti-Sabotage and Access Control Unit
- Ensure anti-sabotage measures and access control checks of the locations and venues for the visit of VIPs;
- Coordinate with the Dog Squad Unit for the anti-sabotage check; and
- Ensure proper handling of the anti-sabotage and access control check equipment.
