The Royal Bhutan Police educated hotel and restaurant staff on safety and security protocols.

At the request of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Bhutan (HRAB), the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) conducted an awareness and sensitisation session on June 6, 2025, for hotel owners, managers, and staff from Thimphu, Paro, Wangdue, and Chukha. The event was held at Hotel Thimphu Residency.

The session focused on the following key areas : Crime and drug-related issues; Challenges faced by hotels; Responsibilities of hotel management; The role of parents/caregivers in caring for their children

; Individual responsibilities of citizens; Cybercrime and online scams; The importance of cooperation and collaboration for the betterment of communities; His Majesty’s vision and the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) initiative; and Service to Tsa-Wa-Sum .

The session concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the RBP’s Crime and Operations Department and HRAB. The MoU aims to foster a safe, secure, and crime- and drug-free environment within Bhutan’s hospitality industry.
