Superintendent of Police’s Conference 2025
The Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) officially opened the Superintendent of Police’s Conference 2025 today at the Technical Trainers Training and Resource Centre, Jigmeling, Gelephu. The five-day conference, being held from 5–9 May 2025, is convened under the theme “Enhancing Policing Excellence Through Strategic Foresight and Innovation in Police Service Delivery.”
The Chief of Police graced the opening ceremony and, in his address, emphasized the imperative for the RBP to be future-ready and strategically aligned to respond to evolving challenges in law enforcement. In his remarks, he highlighted the importance of innovation, foresight, and collaboration in ensuring public safety and aligning policing strategies with national development goals.
The primary objectives of the conference are to:
1. Strengthen strategic foresight and planning capabilities
2. Discuss emerging challenges and opportunities in policing
3. Foster professional development and knowledge management
4. Identify key policy recommendations to improve policing in Bhutan
A total of 35 Superintendents of Police and senior officers from across the country are participating in the conference, engaging in high-level discussions and capacity-building sessions.
One of the key highlights of the opening day was a special session conducted by Dasho Dr. Lotay Tshering, Governor of the Gelephu Mindfulness City(GMC). Dasho Dr. Lotay Tshering shared insights on the vision of the GMC and articulated the strategic role of the Royal Bhutan Police in contributing to His Majesty The King’s vision for national transformation and development.
The Superintendent of Police’s Conference serves as a platform for strategic dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and innovation in law enforcement. Throughout the conference, participants will explore critical trends affecting policing, present case audit findings, review institutional strategies, and contribute to shaping a resilient and people-centered policing model for Bhutan.
