Sensitisation Talk on Drug Trafficking and Abuse

On 8 July 2025, the Deputy Chief of Police, Crime and Operations Department, Royal Bhutan Police Headquarters, delivered a sensitization talk to De-suups at Mitsey Yarab Lamzang, YDF, Thimphu, focusing on the growing concern of drug trafficking and substance abuse in the country.

The session highlighted the collective responsibility of every citizen—particularly the Armed Forces, De-suups, and Gyalsups—in supporting the national effort to combat the drug menace. This aligns with the broader vision of making Bhutan a Drug and Crime-Free Zone, with Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) as its centerpiece.

As we strive to declare other Dzongkhags free from the threat of drugs, it is imperative that no region becomes a weak link that could jeopardize the integrity and future of GMC. The historic groundbreaking of the Gelephu International Airport, graced by His Majesty The King, serves as a powerful reminder of our national vision and shared destiny.

Let us, with unwavering faith, loyalty, and dedication, reaffirm to serve the Tsa-Wa-Sum and realize His Majesty’s noble aspirations for our nation and our people.
