On February 25, 2025, Mr Nakphel (43) from Reti, Jigmecholing Sarpang Dzongkhag, approached the Gelephu Police seeking assistance after he inadvertently left his bag in a taxi while travelling from Samdrupling to Gelephu Town. The bag contained a substantial sum of money.

Shortly after, Mr Tobgay (59), a taxi driver from Kabisa Village, Kabisa Gewog, Punakha Dzongkhag, arrived at the Gelephu Police Station to return a bag he had discovered inside his WagonR taxi (Registration No. BT-3-A0770). Upon verification, the bag was found to contain Nu. 1,72,095/- (One lakh seventy-two thousand ninety-five).

After completing the necessary verification process, the bag and cash were returned to its rightful owner, Mr. Nakphel.

The Royal Bhutan Police commends Mr. Tobgay for his honesty and exemplary conduct. His act of integrity serves as an inspiration to all. We encourage the public to continue upholding such values by reporting and returning lost property to the authorities.
