Be Alert for Counterfeit Bhutanese Currency
On April 27, 2025, Jaigaon Police apprehended an Indian national, a resident of Kumargram, Alipurduar, West Bengal, for possession of counterfeit Bhutanese Ngultrum totaling Nu. 127,500. The counterfeit currency consisted of 255 notes in the denomination of Nu. 500.
The suspect is currently in the custody of Jaigaon Police, and an investigation is underway to determine the origin and network behind this counterfeit operation.
