In a proactive effort to safeguard against chorten vandalism within Division X in Mongar and Lhuentse Dzongkhags, the Superintendent of Police (SP) initiated an initiative to prevent such vandalism at this year’s commencement. This initiative comprises weekly foot patrols conducted by personnel, concentrating on areas with many chortens. Furthermore, these patrols are coordinated with local communities, which actively report suspicious activities and collaborate with law enforcement to raise awareness among their neighbours regarding the significance of preserving these sacred structures.
