This division will include the following units:
Crime Records and Analysis Unit (CRAU)
- Obtain, compile, and analyse the daily report on crime and the situation submission when required;
- Monitor, maintain, and update the National Crime Incident Reporting System (NCIRS);
- Receive and distribute forms and registers pertaining to crime;
- Prepare annual crime statistics; and
- Carry out any other task assigned.
Security Clearance and Arms Licensing Unit
- Verify and approve security clearance certificates in collaboration with the
- Department of Law and Order and Department of Census and Civil Registration;
- Keep a record of arms and ammunition for private individuals, institutions and lhakhangs;
- Follow up on confiscated and surrendered private firearms, ensuring their proper record;
- Process documentation for the procurement and issuance of a private arms licence;
- Monitor the renewal of private firearms licences.
- Ensure the enforcement of the Firearms and Ammunition Act 1990; and
- Carry out any other assigned task.
