  Awareness Session
DESCRIPTION:On March 13\, 2025\, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)\
 , along with officers from the Gelephu Police Station\, held an interactiv
 e session with 72 individuals identified as substance abusers (comprising 
 65 males and 7 females) to deliberate on the detrimental effects associate
 d with drug abuse.\n\nThe session commenced with the presentation of a bri
 ef video excerpt from His Majesty’s 115th National Day Speech\, which es
 tablished a serious and motivational atmosphere for the ensuing dialogue.\
 n\nThroughout the interaction\, the SSP highlighted peer pressure as a pre
 dominant factor contributing to drug use\, referencing findings from the I
 ntelligent Led Policing (ILP). He elaborated on the grave legal and social
  repercussions of substance abuse\, encouraging participants to reconsider
  their choices and adopt a more health-conscious and purposeful lifestyle.
 \n\nA critical takeaway from the discussion was the imperative of diminish
 ing the demand for drugs. The SSP articulated that should individuals ceas
 e drug consumption\, the supply would inherently diminish. He further unde
 rscored the importance of being fully present and engaged in daily activit
 ies as a fundamental aspect of leading a meaningful and productive life.\n
 \nPolice Initiatives and Future Directions\n\nThe Gelephu Police delineate
 d a series of stringent measures aimed at effectively combating drug abuse
  and trafficking:\n\n 	Random Mandatory Drug Testing\n 	Intensive Surprise
  Checks on Highways\n 	Blacklisting Offenders – Individuals apprehended 
 for drug abuse will face restrictions on travel to Dadgari through the CPM
 S and BMS.\n 	Disqualification from Opportunities\n 	Implementation of a Z
 ero-Tolerance Policy\n\nRefreshments were provided after the session\, cre
 ating a platform for informal discussions between the officers and attende
 es. During this interval\, numerous participants voluntarily disclosed inf
 ormation regarding drug suppliers and expressed their readiness to assist 
 law enforcement agencies in the fight against drug abuse.\n\nThe session w
 as a pivotal moment for several attendees. In conclusion\, the SSP reaffir
